India, aptly called the sub-continent is a huge nation in the southern part of Asia. Our nation not only has a rich and varied geography, but also a very old and rich history and culture. India also boasts of diversity in its religion, food, festivals and even languages.
There are hundreds of languages and dialects spoken through-out the length and breadth of the country. To mark this cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity, the Government of India in association with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, has started a programme called “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”. As a part of this programme, “Bhasha Sangam” has been initiated to celebrate the unique symphony of languages within schools and other educational institutions. The programme aims at providing exposure to the different languages listed in the Schedule VIII of the Indian Constitution. This initiative is just the beginning of the journey to create and interest within students to learn different Indian languages.
Aim of Bhasha Sangam:
1. To introduce students to the 22 languages listed within the Schedule VIII of the Indian Constitution
2. To enhance linguistic tolerance and promote national integration
As a part of these celebrations our school has been conducting a session each to learn about 5 sentences in different languages. These sessions will be conducted regularly from the month of November 2019 to June 2020.
