INTERNATIONALLY IMPORTANT DAYS AND INTERNATIONAL FIGURES:
This theme was covered in the Almanac 2013-14.
A collection of International Days which have been recognized by the United Nations is an effective way to reach out to the inner conscience of each student to understand, appreciate and observe these days in honour of certain individuals who stood out in their own way and have made the world a better place today. Just as Yuvraj Singh as a cancer survivor motivates us endlessly to fight against this deadly disease; we are stirred on World Cancer Day to do more for other cancer patients across the world and to try to create awareness about its prevention, detection and treatment. On a similar note, Stephen Hawking gives a new meaning to the fight against disability and we focus on measures for greater integration and equality of disabled people on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
