Timeless Travels

One of the most treasured memories of school life are the picnics, educational trips and adventure camps attended with friends. To ensure that our students can add more to this treasure, every year the school organizes visits for all. Smiling faces, twinkling eyes and giggling laughter – are our memories from each such trip. And yes together we learn sharing and caring, team spirit and time management and come back enriched and empowered.


10th November 2016 – Gurudwara Visit

“Satguru nanak pargateya miti dhund jag chanan hova”

Guru Nanak birthday also known as Gurupurab, celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak DevJi. On this auspicious occasion, the students of classes I & II went for a visit to the Gurudwara in Sector-11, Dwarka on 10.11.2016. The students took the blessings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and enchanted the mool mantra. Thereafter, they were served with karahprashad by the gurudwara volunteer. The visit was organized to make the students understand the importance of festivals in general and in particular. The children had bright smiling faces and a good learning experience at the gurudwara.

7th October 2016 – Visit to Dwarka Court

A court is a government institution with the authority to settle legal disputes between parties and carry out justice in civil, criminal and administrative matters. The system of courts interprets and applies the law. Therefore, the students of class VIII of Sachdeva Global School were taken to the District court of Dwarka to provide them with some basic understanding of court functioning. This gave them an opportunity to witness the court proceedings and to interact with Legal Department Judges. Students went to the MCD court, Mahila court, Family court and various other courts to gain first hand experience of the court hearings and procedures.

Students also got to know about the ‘Mediation Cell’ and appreciated it, as a time saving and better instrument to solve out disputes. A question-answer session was also organised in the conference hall of the court in which Mr.Gupta, Legal Secretary Dwarka Court and a senior judge, solved various queries of the students. Students participated in an enthusiastic manner. By the end of the session, students were provided with the information about POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) 2012. It was a brainstorming session where students learnt a lot of things.

5th November 2016 – Annual Picnic – Eco Adventure Camp

Adventure camp is a day camp that offers a welcoming, lively, safe, positive and diverse environment where children gain confidence and build self-esteem in addition to creating new standard of physical fitness.

A fun filled adventure camp was organized at Eco Adventure Camp Najafgarh. Students of Buds – I participated in around 10-12 activities as per their age group. The camp exposed campers to a variety of challenging and exciting activities like swinging bridge, Hip pity Hop race, laser beam, commando crawl, Hamster wheel and other energizing games. These activities helped to strengthen teamwork and personal accomplishments. The amount of energy and enthusiasm exhibited by students was enthralling. Overall it was a joyful and enriching experience.

20th September 2016 – Visit to Nehru Planetarium

With its aim to promote astronomy education, an educational excursion was organized by SGS for class I on 20.9.16 and for class II on 29.9.16 to The Nehru Planetarium which is situated on the grounds of Teen Murti Bhavan. The main attraction of the day was The Sky Theatre show on the theme ‘The New Solar System’. The sky theatre has a dome shaped roof which looks like space. The children were introduced to the constellations and planets through the theatre show in a very interesting manner. Visuals such as computer animations and video clippings were shown with special effects. The students saw how the Universe was created with the Big Bang. Apart from planets and constellations, various celestial bodies like Black Holes, space showers, meteorites, shooting stars etc were also shown. Detailed explanation of the family of planets was given. The planets looked real and the students felt as if they are actually in space. This all gave a real life experience of space to the kids. The children were very surprised to see the planetarium and enjoyed the show very much. It was an enriching, exciting and a good learning experience for the children.

19th July 2016 - Eternal Gandhi Museum

A visit to Eternal Gandhi Museum was organized on 19th July 2016 for class III.

The Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum is a digital multimedia museum established in 2005. It is located at Gandhi Smriti, formerly Birla House, the site where Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was assassinated.

The museum embellishes the life of Gandhi in sync with photographs, paintings, film footage, and video clips.A collection of over 40 exhibits shows the intersection of modern tactile computing and new green art with Gandhi's vision. It also encompasses new boundaries; in the inclusion of the world community in the production of art and technology and in the contribution of imagination and skills from all over the world.

The students enjoyed the visit and showed great enthusiasm as they learnt about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his contribution to the freedom struggle. The museum presents the historical events of Gandhiji’s life as well as a spectrum of IT visions inspired by Gandhian thought; making the visit an enriching one.

22nd April 2016 – Trip to Indian Air Force Museum

On 22 April 2016 students of classes IV - V went on an educational trip to the Indian Air Force Museum located at Palam Air Force Station. The museum comprises of Roll of Honour, Wall of Fame, Models of Aircrafts and Pictures of Air Marshals. The students were made aware of Indian Aviation History and role of the Air Force in the various wars India has fought so far. The sight of various types of aeroplanes, rockets, bombs and missiles led to a deep understanding of the historical events of the past and the contribution of our country in the same. Overall it was a great educational trip, which witnessed a fair balance of enlightenment and entertainment.



20th February 2016 - Visit to Eco-Adventure Park

Adventure is to enjoy life and to be adventurous is one of the essential things required to live a happy and a healthy life. Different kinds of adventure are associated with different kinds of people. Talking about the kids, they are the most adventurous people on this earth as they do not find the real meaning of being adventurous. For them adventure is to go to fun parks and enjoy.

Each group was accompanied by a volunteer. The kids were first provided a light breakfast and then taken to the rides. Children enjoyed the rides like ‘the Burma bridge’, ‘Zip Line’, ‘Rope climbing’. There were some animal rides too like the ‘Camel cart ride’, ‘Bullock cart ride’, a ride on the ‘Tractor’. All these rides gave children an opportunity to have a glimpse of the present village life and the means of transportation used there. The Eco Park was set in the midst of a village area and it was so made that it gave the entire look of village people, their work and their living style. There were some equipment’s installed like the ‘Charkha weaving’, ‘making of white thread from cotton balls’ which was very fascinating. Apart from all this, the children also enjoyed dancing on their favourite numbers.

(18 Nov – 20 Nov) 2015 – Adventure Camp (Buds – III)

The objective of an adventure camp is to offer an opportunity to the youth to grow, develop and practice principles of togetherness and self- reliance. Furthering the very goal of imparting education and helping the students to evolve into confident individuals who appreciate team work and togetherness, a day adventure camp was organized for the students from 18 November 2015 to 20 November 2015. The camp was organized in the school premises by ‘Great Rocksport Pvt. Ltd.’

The camp gave an opportunity to the students to sharpen their minds, learn while having fun and to help them in becoming psychologically and physically more strong and confident. The students were given a thrilling and unforgettable experience of different adventure activities like commando crawl, body zorb, hop scotch, rock wall climbing, commando net, woody wave, tug of war, laser beam, zip- line etc. The student had a fun filled experience and enthusiastically took part in all the activities organized for them.

16th February 2016 - Meeting with the Space Celebrity - SUNITA WILLIAMS

Students and teachers of Sachdeva Global School got a wonderful opportunity to meet the world renowned NASA astronaut, Ms. Sunita Williams at Indian Islamic Centre, New Delhi on Friday 16-2-16. The excitement to meet and share her experience of space with us was much awaited from the time we heard of her arrival.

She interacted and entertained us whole heartedly which influenced children to take more interest in space exploration.

Her inspiring words infused zeal and vigour in the students in a profound way.

Ms. Sunita Williams told us how she was prepared for over two years before the space trip, actually going into the space with her crew members, living there with no gravity, flying all over the spaceship, her sleeping pattern, food habits etc. in space. All this was shown to the students with the help of a live video.

It left them awe-struck and wondering over the nuances of space exploration by getting enticed by the phenomenal space journey. To the creation of nature they had just one word “Wow”.



23rd November 2015 – Gurudwara Visit – Classes I - II

On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of class I and II went for a visit to the Gurudwara in Sector - 11, Dwarka on 23rd November 2015. Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious festivals in Sikhism observed to remember and commemorate the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first sikh guru and the founder of Sikhism. The visit was organized to make the students understand the importance of various festivals in India. Students serenely listened to the ‘paath’ going on in the gurudwara and after taking the blessings the students were served with ‘Kadaprasad’ by the gurudwara helpers. The children at the end of the visit had bright smiling faces and had a good learning experience at the gurudwara.

21st July 2015 – An Enriching Experience

The students of class III visited the National Museum of Natural History on 21 July 2015 and were filled with joy and exuberance as they witnessed the rich flora, fauna and mineral wealth of our country. The visit promoted environmental awareness among the students and gave them a chance to view the preserved Herpetological and mounted specimen of extinct and endangered species thereby arousing in them a sense of responsibility towards ‘Conservation of Natural Wealth.’ The heuristic experience included displays from theme based exhibition galleries, experiential resource centers such as Discovery Room, Activity Room, and educational and out-reach activities and depicted the country’s rich natural heritage and natural history. In a nutshell, it was an educative and emotionally satisfying experience for the teachers and the students alike.



17th July 2015 – A Visit to House of Truth

The students of class V visited Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum on 17th July, 2015. It is one of the world’s first digital multimedia museums. It is located at the site where Mahatma Gandhi attained martyrdom. The museum presents the historical events of Gandhiji’s life as well as a spectrum of information technology visions inspired by Gandhian thought.

The students witnessed a number of things like turning of the prayer wheels, collaboratively constructed quilts, symbolic pillars and the like. These tradition-based interactions inspired a rich panorama of tactile interfaces that allowed students to access the multimedia imagery of Gandhi.

It was a great experience for the students and teachers alike, as they watched in awe, the technology developed Gandhian images.



8th July 2015 – Excursion: Aravalli Biodiversity Park

SGS organized an interesting and informative trip for students of class IX, on 8 July 2015 to Aravalli Biodiversity Park-located on the South Central Ridge, Delhi. The day started with an interaction with Ms. Kaur, who guided the students through the Biodiversity Park. Various medicinal plants were shown and their usages in daily life were explained to the students. Students effectively took notes of what was explained by the teacher. The resource person then took the students to the mining sites in the park, to explain the students how Earth’s Water Table is getting depleted due to over extraction of resources. Finally the students were shown a 15 minute movie which researchers took around 6-7 years for filming. The movie included videos of all the animal species that live in the park. The trip concluded with a discussion, where students were given time to ask their doubts from the resource person. In a nutshell, it was an enriching experience for the students and they were left asking for more.

8th July 2015 – Educational Trip to Supreme Court Museum

Sachdeva Global School organized an educational trip to the prestigious Supreme Court Museum with The Times of India on 8th July 2015. The students got the rare opportunity to see the wide collection of various copies of important cases in Indian History of Judiciary. They also saw realistic models of the supreme court of India and High courts of Mumbai and Chennai, different coins, Emblem and many more interesting things. They were made aware of the history of Indian Judiciary through models, timeline of Chief justice of India and many other things which were related to the Indian judiciary system. At last a video about the establishment of The Supreme Court of India, its growth and how it works was shown to the students. The trip successfully inculcated a sense of pride in the students towards the Judicial System in general and the Supreme Court of India in particular. It was an enjoyable experience which would certainly be cherished by those who went.



19th December 2014 – Trip to Pratapgarh Farms

To break the monotony of the routine work, students of classes VI – VIII were taken for the Annual Trip to Pratapgarh Farms on 19th December 2014. Relishing the sumptuous food in the realms of rustic surroundings and enjoying the charms of serene environment were the major attractions. It was full of excitement, thrill and rejuvenation. Students enjoyed Camel Ride, Pottery Making and Drawing Water from the Well. It was an apt destination which gave the students an opportunity to experience the rural life in person and see beauty of nature closely. The trip proved to be a memorable one as the students came across the unique delicacies and suaveness of Indian Culture in the multifarious activities on which they tried their hands.

05th December 2014 – World of Wonder

Student of classes IX – XII went for the annual picnic to ‘World of Wonder’ on 5th December 2014. It was a fun filled trip which will remain etched in the minds of the students forever. The day started on an enthusiastic note with students playing antakshari and dumb charades in the bus en route to the destination. After arriving at the park, they enjoyed a plethora of rides as well as boating. They also danced their hearts out after the rides. By the time of lunch, they were tired and relished the sumptuous meal with fervor. The eventful day came to an end at around 03:00 p.m. and the students bid adieu with a heavy heart, carrying beautiful memories in their hearts forever.

(1st – 2nd) December 2014 – Annual Picnic – (I – II)

An annual picnic was organized by SGS for class-I on Ist December 2014 and for class-II on 2nd December 2014 to Aeroplanet. SGS headed a step ahead to widen the horizon of learning by organizing this picnic. Aeroplanet which is situated in Sector 8, Dwarka aims at imparting air travel safety, etiquette and sports recreation training to schools, colleges, groups and MNC’s in a safe, enclosed and environment friendly area. There are two big jet airplanes ie. Airbus A 300 and CRJ 200 positioned in Aeroplanet which provide a real time airplane experience. The students were told about the different aspects of air travel safety like how to use the safety belt, life jacket, oxygen mask and a mock drill was also done to prepare them for times of crisis. They were also shown the cockpit and told how a pilot controls the plane and what all has to be taken care of while flying the plane. There were other activities also organized for children like magic show, fun games and there was even a dance floor where the children grooved to the music and danced on peppy numbers. The picnic was a good learning experience for the children. The children had various fun moments in the airplane and on the dance floor.

(25th & 28th) November 2014 – Visit to Aeroplanet

Picnics are best when outdoors… Guess we can rethink while giving that statement out the next time. Aeroplanet is one such place that has proved this wrong. On 25th & 28th November 2014, students of BUDS & BLOOMS respectively were out on the wheels to the AEROPLANET, Dwarka for their annual picnic. A place where an Airbus A-300 is stationed to give the complete understanding of an aircraft, a 50 seater CRJ-200 was in the campus to give boarding the aircraft, air turbulence, aircraft take-off and landing experience. Full view of the plane from the side gallery, cockpit view from inside and outside was also available for every learner there. The visit not only displayed and familiarized the students to air travel, but also taught the children aviation etiquettes and manners. Trampoline and bouncy games were the additional attraction. Rope crossing was another activity that was thoroughly enjoyed by all as they were asking for more. No picnic could be complete without some dance and music, which the students enjoyed to the core at the dance floor.

3rd November 2014 – Gurudwara Visit – Class I

‘Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.’

On the occasion of ‘Gurunanak’s birthday’, more famously called the ‘Gurupurab’, the school had organized a visit for the students of class I, to a Gurudwara, located in Dwarka, Sector – 11. Very strongly giving our children the message of secularity and spirituality at the same time. The visit took place in the morning hours, as soon as the students reached school. They were instructed to cover their heads with scarf’s, as a mode of respect towards the holy place. The students then boarded the buses and visited the Gurudwara along with their teachers. It was a serene atmosphere that enchanted the young ones as well. They sat their in prayer, known as ‘paath’, with closed eyes and joined palms. The students were also guided about the method, rules and importance of the prayers held there. They ended the ‘paath’ with bowed heads and kneeled legs infront of the ‘Gurugranth Saahib’ and then took round of the holy scripture. It was an enlightening visit, which students enjoyed thoroughly. The visit was concluded by distribution of the ‘Kada Prasad’ and frooti, to the students. Overall, the visit had so much learning for the children and a memorable experience as well.

3rd November 2014 – Adventure Camp

The school organized an Adventure camp in the school premises for the students of classes Buds and Blooms on 3rd November 2014. The camp was conducted by ‘Great Rocksport Pvt. Ltd’ (‘Member of Adventure Tour Operators Association of India and First Indian Company to win Education Excellence Award’) Students experienced all the adventure activities such as ‘Zip Line’, ‘Burma Bridge’, ‘Hop Scotch’, ‘Commando Crawl’, ‘Tug of War’, ‘Hamster Wheel’, ‘Laser Beam’, ‘Double Rope Bridge’ etc. The all day long activities results into developing various skills, team spirit, leadership qualities, discipline and Physical fitness. Many teachers also participated along with the students which further motivated the students. This camp was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

(30th - 31st) October 2014 – Visit to Gurudwara

‘Guru Purab’ also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious religious festival celebrated in India to commemorate and remember the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak, first Sikh Guru. We at Sachdeva Global School believe in secularism and celebrate festival of all religions. In this regard students of class Buds and Blooms were taken to Gurudwara on (30th - 31st) October 2014 where they were told the importance of ‘Guru Purab’. They were also made aware of some of their teachings. Children were also provided with ‘Kada’ and a ‘Frooti’ as Prasad. The children had great fun and learning by the visit.

21st October 2014 – Visit to An Orphanage

“We can’t help everyone bur everyone can help someone” inspired by these lines, Sachdeva Global School organized a visit to an orphanage ‘Don Bosco Ashalyam’, Palam Gaon on Tuesday, 21 October 2014. Students of Class VII represented the school and donated towards the noble cause by giving clothes, toys, stationeries, sweets and other eatables which had been collected from staff, students and parents. The children at the orphanage welcomed our students by singing a carol followed by singing of songs and playing of musical instruments. Students of SGS presented a Ganesh Stuti dance, which was applauded by everyone. The children of the Ashalyam of ages 6 to 17 interacted with our school students in an interactive session. Thereafter they played volleyball together. It was a humbling and joyful experience for everyone.

29th September 2014 – Visit to SBI Bank

In an endeavor to provide hands on experience, students of class XIIB visited the main branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA at Parliament Street on 29th September 2014 along with their teachers. The visit provided them an opportunity to observe and understand banking activities.

Students were welcomed through the E lobby OF SBI that included the machines which are used for depositing & withdrawal of money .Students were shown the entire process of depositing and withdrawal of cash at various counters, locker availability, depositing of cheque and priority banking facility etc. Students were made familiar with various documents used in bank like Pay-in-slip, Cheque book and Pass book. SBI gave an opportunity to students to open their own savings accounts as well. .

At the end, queries of students were addressed well by the employees of SBI. The visit was well grasped by students and such an exposure will certainly enriched the students with general procedures about banking procedures.



25th September 2014 - Visit to Gandhi Museum

With the view to break the monotony of the regular schedule, students of class V were taken on an educational trip to the Gandhi museum on 25th September. The fun and frolic ultimately met its motive in the trip which offered a room for infotainment. They got an opportunity to be one with the life and works of an eminent believer of truth and non-violence-Mahatma Gandhi. The glimpses of the digitalization of the museum left the children flabbergasted and impressed their psyche to the utmost level. It was an enjoyable experience which created a joyous spree among them.

24th September 2014 - Movie Watching

A Movie Show was organized by SGS in collaboration with Hindustan Times at Liberty Cinema, Karol bagh on 24.9.14.It was a refreshing break for the students from the daily study days. The children saw the movie ‘Entertainment’. It was a very entertaining and funny movie. The humorous jokes tickled everyone’s funny bones. It was a wonderful experience for the children as well as the teachers. The movie was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

23rd September 2014 - A Jaunt Through Our Roots

An educational trip to the National Museum of History, Janpath was organized for the students of class IV on 23 September 2014, in collaboration with TIMES NIE.

Not only did the trip provide the students a chance to explore the objects of the ancient civilization but also introduced them to a vast anthropology collection preserved there, highlighting the lifestyles of the folk and tribal people. The trip proved interactive and equally enjoyable as the young guide escorting the students, informed them about the excavated things of Mohen-jo-daro and Harappa Culture. They enthusiastically viewed the tools, earthen pots, ornaments and other important items of that era. The exhibits of the sculptures, art forms, coins and jewellery used in various periods aroused several queries in the students’ young minds and left them amazed as they gathered information about each one of them. The students were also taken for a tour through the display of the specimens of the very impressive and sophisticated arms and armours used by various kings and their warriors. The exhibit enjoyed the most by the students was that of the tribal lifestyle showcasing unique dresses, musical instruments and masks used by different tribes around the country.

The visit broadened the pupils’ knowledge as they learnt about their glorious past in a fun filled manner.

8th August 2014 – Visit to International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology

In an endeavour to bring the students of Biological Sciences of classes XI – XII in a direct face – to – face interaction with the big wigs of Biotechnology, a visit to the ICGEB campus was organized on Friday 8th August 2014.

The students visited the lab of Dr. Naveen Khanna, (Group Leader – Recombinant Gene Products) who is in charge of the development of diagnostics and drugs for Dengue fever. The students were given a presentation of the history and the present status of the R & D carried out in this field.

The students were also demonstrated the use of various scientific instruments and tools like the ultracentrifugation chambers and the inverted microscopes. It was a highly inspiring experience for the students, some of whom were motivated to take up research as a professional career.



May 2014 – Globalities Go Global

Sachdeva Global School organized an educational trip to United States of America for a group of students of Class VI to XII along with the Head of School Mrs. Novita Chopra. Students visited New York, Washington, Orlando and Boston. To see the classrooms and labs of World’s top most Universities MIT and Havard, was an experience in itself. Students spent three days at Kennedy Space Centre ‘NASA’, having lot of exposure on making and launching of space shuttles. Asking questions and having lunch with an astronaut was any child’s dream come true.

Apart from visiting Disney Land and Universal Studio in Orlando, students spent a very fruitful day in Montessori World School which is a partner school of SGS for ISA achievement. SGS students interacted with the students of Orlando school and also participated in number of activities on building communication skills. To be a part of their teaching-learning process was an enriching experience. Opportunity to see statue of Liberty, Empire state building, ground zero and White House was an absolute cherry on the cake. 07th May 2014 - Visit to Traffic Park

Everyday people die on the roads due to reckless driving, speeding etc. and we blame the government for failing to provide good roads. But as responsible citizens, we can make the roads safer for all by simply following some basic traffic rules. In order to educate the students about traffic rules, Sachdeva Global School organised a visit to Traffic Park where the inspector in charge showed the children around the park and discussed the importance of following traffic rules. He familiarized them with various road signs and also told them about the use of subways, footpaths, over bridges and zebra crossings. He encouraged the children to speak to their parents about avoiding the use of cell phones while driving. The awareness related to risks of under age driving was also explained to them. Students were quite inquisitive about things related to traffic rules and their queries were answered gracefully.

It was surely a fruitful trip which was also an enriching learning experience for the children.

7th May 2014 – Education Trip to Air Force Museum

Sachdeva Global School organized an educational trip to the prestigious Air Force Museum at Palam Air Force Station with the Times of India on 7 May 2014. The students were amazed to see the wide collection of aeroplanes and armoury of Indian Air Force. They were made aware of the history of Indian Air Force through paintings, uniforms and models of aircrafts and were thus able to appreciate its progressive growth. The trip successfully inculcated a sense of pride in the students towards the Defence Forces in general and the Air Force in particular. Many also felt motivated to dwell on Defence services as one of their coveted career options.



2nd May 2014 - A Visit to Goonj

To promote the idea of Green School and continue with its social initiatives, students of SGS of class VIII paid an enlightening visit to an NGO-Goonj on 2nd May 2014 wherein they were sensitized towards the striving lifestyle of the rural children. It aimed at materialising the concept of 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle) to preserve the environment. Students were made to immerse into the deep ocean of creativity with the display of earnest efforts of the female employees of the organisation which included various programmes such as “cloth for work” & “not just a piece of cloth”. The visit assimilated a sense of responsibility in the students of SGS by donating materials including woollen clothes, toys, ration items etc they felt contended and rejuvenated.

20th February 2014 – Trip to World Book Fair

To motivate the students to indulge in extensive reading, SGS organized a trip for classes VI - VII to New Delhi World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan on Thursday, 20th February 2014.

The plethora of books on display created an element of fresh curiosity in the students who explored genres which they had hitherto not read. Meeting with authors and participating in puzzle competitions were the highlights of the day. The trip was not only informative and motivating but also extremely entertaining and left each student instilled with love for books.

11th December 2013 – Nature Walk

‘One touch of nature makes the whole world kin’

There is so much beauty all around us to see, touch and hear. Nature is so miraculous because it is always changing. No matter how many times you look at something, it is always different.

In order to welcome and feel the beauty of nature, SGS organized a ‘Nature Walk’ for the classes of BUDS in sec-18, Dwarka park on 11th December 2013.

The children saw beautiful flowers and leaves. The importance of why we need to plant more trees was discussed with the children, thereby telling the children how we as individuals can contribute towards the environment.

We hope that this endeavour will be a steping stone towards student’s involvement in conserving and preserving our mother nature and thus making the children understand that nature is truly an important part of our lives.

(28 Nov. & 5 Dec.) 2013 – Picnic to Adventure Island

An annual picnic was organised by SGS for classes VI – X on 28th November and classes III – V on 5th December 2013 to Adventure Island, Rohini. The picnic was a combination of fun rides and adventure sports. The students participated in various adventure activities like burma bridge, space jump etc under the supervision of professional trainers. students also participated in fun filled activities such as ad- mad show and took thrilling rides- splash down, twister, rage coaster, etc. a yummy lunch was served followed by a treat of ice-cream at the end. Students grooved to the music and danced on peppy numbers. The picnic was an awesome experience for the students with the various fun moments at the camp, on the rides and on the dance floor. It also provided a platform for teachers and students to interact beyond the school boundaries and develop a stronger bond.

23rd – 24th November 2013 – Trip to Chokhi Dhani

Jaipur, the pink city of India, is an extremely popular tourist destination of Rajasthan. The school planned a fun and educational excursion to Jaipur for students of classes XI and XII on 23-24 November 2013. The students were taken to Jaipur by road and the journey helped in setting a friendly, collaborative mood among them. On reaching Jaipur, the students visited Jal Mahal and Hawa Mahal. Next they headed for Chokhi Dhani, a unique 5-star village resort that offers a beautiful blend of traditional and modern amenities in an ethnic environment. Traditional art, music, dances, games and various recreational activities created a magical evening for all. The students relished delicious Rajasthani cuisine before returning to their rooms.

The following day began early with a visit to the City Palace and then to the grand Amer Fort, which is known for its vivid Indian architecture. Here, students explored various historical facts. By evening, the journey back to Delhi commenced. On the whole, this experience not only provided the students with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge about the rich culture of India but also attain a great sense of belongingness, togetherness and friendship.



14th November 2013 – Visit To Bank

In an endeavour to provide practical experience, as part of CBSE curriculum for commerce. Students of class XI B visited SBI Bank, Dwarka along with the teachers to understand and observe the banking activities.

Students were shown the entire process of depositing and withdrawal of cash at various counters, lockers availability, depositing of cheque and priority banking facility etc. Students were made familiar with various documents used in bank like pay in slip, cheque book and pass book. At the end, queries of students were addressed well by the employees of the Bank. The visit was very informative and such an exposure will certainly enrich awareness among the students.



13th November 2013 – Visit to Gurdwara (Buds - Blooms)

Gurupurab also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious religious festivals celebrated in India to commemorate and remember the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak, first Sikh Guru. We at Sachdeva Global School believe in secularism and celebrate festivals of all religions. In this regard, students of classes Buds – Blooms were taken to Gurdwara on 13th Nov. 2013 where they were told the importance of the Sikh Gurus. They were also made aware of some of their teachings. Children were also provided with some ‘Khada Prasad’ at the end. The children had great fun visiting Gurdwara and knowing their traditions and customs.

12th November 2013 – Visit to Gurdwara (Classes I – II)

Gurdwara means “doorway to the Guru.” Students of classes – I and II visited a Gurdwara in Dwarka on 12th November, 2013. The students bowed to the Guru Granth Sahib and recited the prayers ‘Ek Onkar’ and ‘Satnaam Waheguru’. They were explained that they should be honest and sincere. It was followed by the Ardaas and Distribution of Prasad. It was a divine experience for the children as well as the teachers.

31st October 2013 – Sky Observation Over Night Session

Sky observations have always been an integral part of an astronomer’s to –do list. The heavens above are a storehouse of mysteries, waiting to be unveiled. Astronomy club students got the opportunity to explore the countless beauties that adorn the night sky. On 31st October 2013 students were taken to Sariska (Tiger Den Resort) for sky observation over night session. The session started with venus observation and orientation of site. Students then enjoyed the dinner in the pleasant weather of sariska. Planispheres were given to them and they learnt how to read it. Using same planisphere they started their challenge of constellation hunting. They viewed Galaxies, Nebulae, Star Clusters, Jupiter, Mars, Moon and Constellations etc. Observing the changed sky on 1st November 2013, early morning was the best experience for the students. It was the wonderful chance for our young astronomers to venture into the fascinating world of astronomy.



18th September 2013 – Visit to Parle Factory

Continuing with the trend of providing informative and practical experiences, the students of classes III – V were taken to the factory site of Parle G, situated at Bahadurgarh, Haryana.

The visit included a movie show for students explaining the process of manufacturing of the entire range of Parle G products the biscuits, wafers, toffees and chocolates. This was followed by an actual visit of the manufacturing and packaging plants to get a glimpse of the process.

This informative, interactive and joyful experience ended with the students getting wafer packets as souvenirs.

18th September 2013 – Adventure Camp

The school organized an Adventure Camp in the school premises for the students of classes Buds to III on (18-19) September 2013. Camp was conducted by ‘Rocksport Pvt. Ltd; run by Mr. Shashi Tharoor, India’s premiere Adventure training company, under the guidance of trained professionals and supervision of school teachers. The children had an enriching and joyful experience in all the adventure activities such as ‘Zip Line’, ‘Commando Crawl’, ‘Hop Scotch’, Hamster Wheels’, ‘Tug of War’,’ Tent Pitching, ‘Vertical Ladder’, ‘Laser Beam, ‘Double Rope Bridge, ‘ Tarzan Swing’, ‘Swinging Bridge, ‘Cammondo Net’. All day long activities resulted into developing various skills like team spirit, discipline and physical fitness. Many teachers actively participated along with the students which further motivated the students. This camp was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

12th April 2013 – Trip to National Museum

The vivid hues of Indian Heritage were implored by the students of SGS on Friday, 12th April 2013 under the combined initiative of the school & HT Pace. It was an educational tour organised for classes V to VIII. The museum comprised of different galleries which gave them a real life experience of dwelling upon the various aspects of Indian Culture & feel the ecstasy of the historical treasure. Indian Miniature Paintings, Coin Gallery, Textile & Conservation Museum left everlasting impressions on their mind. The serenity of the inscriptions of Gupta Dynasty & Harappa Civilization captivated their fancies. The tour was an amalgamation of knowledge & entertainment. To the delicacies of Indian Art & Craft, they just had one word “WOW!



11th April 2013 - Visit to National Museum of Natural History

School in collaboration with NIE organized an educational trip to National Museum of Natural History for classes III – V. The trip very informative as well as sensitized students to the cause of conservation of natural surroundings. Students were taken on a tour of the natural beauty and its environment represented picturesquely in the form of preserved specimens of flora and fauna. An informative film was shown to them which focused on environmental issues.

9th April 2013 – Visit to Robotics Lab, IIT Delhi

An educational trip to IIT, Delhi was organized by SGS on 9th April 2013 for classes XI – XII. Information about design, construction, operation and application of Robots as well as computer system programming (using C++ language) for control, sensory feedback and information processing was given to students. It was a highly informative trip which motivated students to look at Engineering as a lucrative profession and be a part of premiere institutes like IITs.

12th February 2013 - Eco Meet cum Exhibition-2013

A team of four students of classes VI - VIII along with Science Teacher, Ms. Megha visited the Annual Eco Meet cum Exhibition which was organized by Govt. of NCT of Delhi on 12th February 2013 at Talkatora Stadium. The Hon’ble Chief Minister – Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, was the chief guest of the annual eco meet.

The exhibition demonstrated various small and big initiatives towards protection of the environment. Stalls were put up by various schools and colleges of Delhi displaying the various eco friendly items, paintings, showcasing the various activities/projects undertaken by them to conserve and protect the environment and disseminated the knowledge to general public by explaining about their activities, initiatives and responsibilities for environment. School children also put up some cultural performances like Dance, Skit, and Street play etc. on environment in order to create awareness and sensitivity. It was exciting for everybody present and also a great learning experience. Students learnt a great deal from the exhibition.

9th February 2013 - Visit to National Museum & Gallery of Modern Art

Art loving students of classes VI – X were taken to National Museum to see the exhibits displayed by Archaeological Survey of India, titled as ‘Rediscovering India’, which celebrated its 150th Anniversary. Original Artifacts supported by photo blow-ups, graphics etc. were on display in the exhibition. Detailed prospectuses were given to the students. The highlights of the exhibition were the landmark achievements made by ASI in the last 50 years. Students took deep interest in watching the exhibits, which represented the Harappa and Indus Valley civilizations and their history. Students also enjoyed the solo show of the paintings of Amrita Shergill at National Gallery of Modern Art. The show represented the lifelong collection of her paintings in oil colours, water colour, charcoal, wash on paper, acrylic etc.

It was a learning and a fun filled experience for our budding artists.

14th December 2012 – Visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan

Students of classes VI and VII, got the golden opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhawan, considered to be one of the best known monuments of India on Friday, 14th December 2012. The Rashtrapati Bhawan is the house of parliament of India also known as the Viceroy’s House is a real masterpiece that was built in the British period. It is the focal point of New Delhi and situated in the Raisina Hills.

A guide showed the students around the vast mansion and enriched their knowledge about the place. The splendor of the Rashtrapati Bhawan is multi-dimensional. It is a vast mansion and its architecture is breathtaking. Rashtrapati Bhawan is a beautiful amalgamation of Eastern and Western architectural style.

They visited the Lutyen Gallery, Marble house, kitchen Gallery, Gift GALLERY, Dining Hall, Ashoka Hall, Durbar Hall (the major venue of all official ceremonies of the Indian Government such as the oath taking ceremony by the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and the Members of the parliament) and the Mughal Garden. They found the Rashtrapati Bhawan grand in every sense, whether it was ceiling with its amazing design or the beautifully carved furniture or the exquisite presents of the President collected from all over the world or the history related to it.

Students enjoyed exploring the visual treat that the Rashtrapati Bhawan is and were amazed to see the beauty and magnificence of this historical building.

12th December 2012 – Eco Adventure Camp

In order to give a break from daily routine work, the students of classes Buds – II were taken to Eco Adventure Camp, Najafgarh. At the venue the students were escorted by the team members of the camp. To start with a magic show was organized which was enjoyed by everyone. Children also enjoyed the rides on camel cart, bullock cart and tractor. Other Adventure activities included ‘Flying Fox’, ‘Tyre Climbing’, ‘Burma Bridge’. In-house DJ played rocking music to which the students as well as teachers danced to the fullest. The food provided to the students was mouth watering and children relished it.

30th November 2012 - Annual School Picnic (VI – XI)

Sachdeva Global School, organized the annual picnic for student of classes VI – XI to Adventure Island on 30th November 2012. It was quite refreshing for the students as it gave them a little break from the regular studies. The students were excited and happy. They enjoyed the rides of various swings like twister, splash, striking cars and so on.

There was a magic show at 12:30 p.m. which was quite entertaining. Hot and delicious lunch was also served for students and teachers. Students had a lot of fun and were back to school in the evening.

(22-23) November 2012 – Visit to Gurudwara

“Guru Nanak Jayanti” – being a sacred festival of the Sikh community, is falling on Wednesday, 28th November 2012. The importance of this event was instilled in the little ones of classes Buds - Blooms. A visit to a nearby Gurudwara was organized on 22nd and 23rd November 2012. Students were excited and happy to see the ongoing preparations for the approaching festival. The sikh guru as they call him ‘Bhai Ji’ elaborated on the sacred ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ and the teachings of the Guru. Kids were told about the importance of always wearing ‘bandana’ inside the Gurudwara and they were also given the ‘Prasad’.

20th November 2012 – Visit to Axis Bank

In an endeavour to provide hands on experience as a part of their CBSE Business Studies Curriculum students of class XIB visited the Axis Bank, Dwarka along with the teacher. The visit provided them an opportunity to observe and understand banking activities.

Students were shown the entire process of depositing and withdrawal of cash at various counters, lockers availability, depositing of cheque and priority banking facility etc. Students were made familiar with various documents used in bank like Pay-in-slip, Cheque book and Pass book.

At the end, queries of students were addressed well by the employees of Axis bank. The visit was well grasped by students and such an exposures will certainly enrich awareness of our students.







6th November 2012 - Visit to Bal Bhawan

Visit to Bal Bhawan was planned to develop creative thinking among children through non formal educational activities which will inculcate in them confidence, self reliance, patriotism and love for values that in turn will make our nation stronger. On 6th November 2012 students of classes III – V visited Bal Bhawan in collaboration with HT Pace. The visit gave the students a wonderful opportunity to observe the nature closely. Special attractions were mirror house, science gallery, swings and a museum named ‘Hamara Bharat’. Children explored the astronomical facts related to the SUN and its family. Historical facts were reviewed through various carvings on the walls of the museum. It was a sort of infotainment for them and to the delicacies of nature, they just had one word to describe it all – WOW!

2nd November 2012 - Visit to Gurudwara

In an endeavour to foster secularism and make the students understand and appreciate each religion, 145 students of classes I – II visited a Gurudwara located at sec-11, Dwarka, on Monday, 2nd November 2012. Students were briefed about the significance of sikh religion and the ‘Guru Grantha Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs. After the prayer, the Prasad was distributed to the students. The visit truly gave them an essence of Guru Nanak Jayanti (28 Nov).

3rd March 2012 – Visit to the Book Fair, Pragati Maidan

The 20th World Book Fair began on Saturday, 25th February 2012 at Pragati Maidan. Organized by The National Book Trust, this fair showcased the biggest book fair in the Afro Asian region. Exhibitors from India and abroad took part in this fair.

Teachers of Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka visited the fair on Saturday, 3rd March 2012. While the focus was on selecting books, keeping in mind the overall development and enrichment of different skills, utmost care was also taken to include books which would boost the students’ interest in reading.

Books on display, ranged over a variety of genre, starting from books on moral values, to Effective Communication Skills, Books on Correct Grammatical Usage, Letter Writing, Great Speeches by famous political personalities, books on Enrichment of Skills in Able and Talented Children, Selected Essays on Urbanization, its Maladies, Growing Violence, Essentials of Nation Building, Modern Man’s Apathy, and the list went on. Selected books were bought to be added to the extensive collection of the school library.



2nd March 2012 – Trip to ‘The Garden of Five Senses’

Annual picnic was organised for students of Classes I – II. Our students had a fun filled time at ‘The Garden Of Five Senses’ located on the Mehrauli – Badarpur road on Friday, 2nd March 2012. A clean and well maintained entrance way led to a wonderful garden designed to stimulate the five senses with its beauty and attractions; its special features include sundial, solar park and an amphitheatre.

Students were encouraged to touch rocks and greens and feel them, smell the fragrance of flowers, view the appealing landscapes and listen to the pleasing ceramic bells.

After they had seen the whole garden and played lot of games, they were hungry and luinch was served to them in this naturally enthralling ambience. Later, the students enjoyed playing ‘Passing the Parcel’ game.

It is a wonderful place to visit and leaves a deeply entrenched feeling of satisfaction and beckons to visit the park again and again. Everyone returned in high spirits.
