27th November 2015 – Children’s Day

Children’s day also known as ‘Bal Diwas’ in hindi is celebrated on 14th November every year on the occasion of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday. It is a day of fun and frolic and a celebration of childhood and Nehruji’s love for children. To tell us more about children’s day and to celebrate it in a fun filled with children an assembly was organized by class II-E on children’s day. The students told us why and howchildrens’ day is celebrated and also gave an entertaining dance performance which everyone enjoyed. The head of school, Mrs. Sumanna Datta Sarkar congratulated class II-E for presenting an informative assembly and also wished all the students a very happy children’s day. During the assembly certificates were given to the winners of the calligraphy competition from class II and English story telling competition from blooms.

(23rd & 26th) November 2015 – JAM Session

JAM is an important session where the students are supposed to present their ideas within a minute. In order to bring out the inner talent of small kids jam session was organized for Buds – Blooms in our school on 23rd and 26th November 2015. The students were given a topic: ‘What you want to be’ props and presentation and festival I like the most during which they shared their plans to fulfill their dreams and the festivals they enjoyed the most. The judgment was based in the basis of clarity, content, confidence by the honorable judges of the session. It was a session full of enthusiasm. The students enjoyed a lot.

23rd November 2015 – Magic Show

Our School organized a Magic show on 23rd November 2015 for classes III-V. The magician Sh. Krishna Kant a renowned magician whose programmes have been aired on channels like Zee, Channel V and many others.

The magician was amazing, with high-energy. He had put together 40 minutes performance with lots of audiences’ participation and interaction. The kids and even teachers, alike got involved in his caprice tricks.

The students and teachers were entertained to the utmost while the magician performed his creative, entertaining, and truly magical tricks. The professionalism of the magician added more fun and excitement to the event. He had the best way to amuse the crowd and brought in a carnival atmosphere.

The act was thoroughly enjoyed by all students and teachers. Long after it was over, discussion of his tricks ensured the level of excitement among our learners.

23rd November 2015 – Gurudwara Visit – Classes I - II

On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of class I and II went for a visit to the Gurudwara in Sector - 11, Dwarka on 23rd November 2015. Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious festivals in Sikhism observed to remember and commemorate the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first sikh guru and the founder of Sikhism. The visit was organized to make the students understand the importance of various festivals in India. Students serenely listened to the ‘paath’ going on in the gurudwara and after taking the blessings the students were served with ‘Kadaprasad’ by the gurudwara helpers. The children at the end of the visit had bright smiling faces and had a good learning experience at the gurudwara.

(18 Nov – 20 Nov) 2015 – Adventure Camp (Buds – III)

The objective of an adventure camp is to offer an opportunity to the youth to grow, develop and practice principles of togetherness and self- reliance. Furthering the very goal of imparting education and helping the students to evolve into confident individuals who appreciate team work and togetherness, a day adventure camp was organized for the students from 18 November 2015 to 20 November 2015. The camp was organized in the school premises by ‘Great Rocksport Pvt. Ltd.’

The camp gave an opportunity to the students to sharpen their minds, learn while having fun and to help them in becoming psychologically and physically more strong and confident. The students were given a thrilling and unforgettable experience of different adventure activities like commando crawl, body zorb, hop scotch, rock wall climbing, commando net, woody wave, tug of war, laser beam, zip- line etc. The student had a fun filled experience and enthusiastically took part in all the activities organized for them.

16th November 2015 – Origami Competition

Origami, the word refers to the art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures. It is an art that provides meaning to every bit of paper. With the help of it, even a waste paper can be moulded and given a beautiful shape. Nowadays, people use colourful Origami sheets to make different shapes and figures. To make children try their hands on this beautiful art, an Origami competition was organized in our school on 16.11.2015 for class I. Before the competition, a practice session was also conducted in each of the sections in order to make students aware about this art and also practice some shapes and figures using the Origami Sheets. On the day of the competition, the students enthusiastically participated and created beautiful shapes using the Origami Sheets provided to them. Each and every bit of paper was given a beautiful shape by the children. It was a wonderful experience for both the students and the teachers.

(6 Nov – 10 Nov) 2015 – Inter Zonal Skating Competition (SGFI)

Skating is a great way to participate in a fitness activity which benefits both the mind and body.

Sachdeva Global School students participated in Inter Zonal Skating Competition (SGFI) held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Bawana from 6th November to 10th November 2015. The students performed very well and won 1 Gold, 2 Silver and cash Rs. 1500/-.

8th November 2015 – The International Day of the Girl Child

The International Day of the Girl Child is a response to an urgent problem facing our world today: the neglect and devaluation of girls around the world. On 8th November 2015, class IV B, with their special assembly highlighted, discussed and celebrated girls’ lives and opportunities across the globe.

A group of girl students recited a heart touching poem on the life of a girl child which sensitized and helped in emphasizing the importance of nurturing and respecting girls globally. The dance performance by the class students however, overpowered the sensitivity and portrayed the strength and success women are capable of reflecting, both at home and at workplace. The assembly witnessed the immense enthusiasm of the students that clearly reflected the concern of the youth in acknowledging the need of imbibing moral values. Awareness of issues like these are intentional efforts from the school for helping children grow in a balanced atmosphere and develop into a brilliant personality.

5th November 2015 – Diwali Assembly

To keep up with the spirit of the festive season and with the festival of lights, approaching, an assembly was organised by class II-D on Diwali. Diwali also known as the festival of lights, celebrates the homecoming of lord Rama to Ayodha after defeating the ten headed demon Ravana. Diwali is a festival which brings in with itself a lot of joy and brightness. We light diyas, make rangolis, decorate our houses and worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. To tell us more about the festival the students of class II-D presented a vibrant assembly on Diwali. They told us about the importance of the festival through a beautiful poem and also presented a beautiful dance. The students also talked about celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali. The Head of school, Mrs. Sumana Dutta Sarkar congratulated class II-D for their overall presentation and wished everyone a very Happy Diwali.

An Anti Cracker drive was also initiated in the school on the occassion.

4th November 2015 – Aqua Race – Robotic Competition

Rythum Bawa and Tushar Srivastava of class VIII bought laurels to school by bagging the third position in Aqua Race Robotic Competition held at Delhi Public School on 4th November 2015.







03rd November 2015 – Space Explorer Workshop – Classes VI - IX

A workshop named “Science Of Light” was conducted on 3rd November 2015 for students of grade VI – IX. The duration of the workshop was 90 minutes.

Students were told that 2015 is recognized as “International year of light” and the workshop was specially designed to honour this year as ‘light year’. Students understood the importance of light through various hands-on experiments and recorded their observations in their hand booklets. They learnt about various phenomenon of light such as reflection, refraction, total internal reflection, dispersion etc. They were divided in 3 teams to know the principle of telescopes, microscopes and lenses used in them.

Learning Outcomes of the workshop

1. Identifying sources of light and distinguish between them.

2. Concepts of light such as Reflection, Refraction, Total Internal Reflection, Dispersion etc.

3. Realization that our eyes also has a lens and it can be corrected using another lens if defected

4. Handling instruments like camera, binoculars, telescope and microscope – all work because of light

5. Learning about concave and convex mirrors and their working principles.



03rd November 2015 – Space Explorer Workshop – Classes III - V

A workshop named “Magnificent Family of the Sun” was conducted on 3rd November 2015 for students of grade III - V. The duration of the workshop was 90 minutes.

Participants were introduced to Solar System objects such as Sun, planets, comets, asteroids and dwarf planets. They learnt about various facts about these objects and their place in the solar system. Students also solved puzzle of solar system objects to get clues that will help them to find these objects placed in a pool of balls called as solar family pool. With the objects found from the pool, they completed a solar system model by placing all the objects in their designated sequence.

Learning Outcomes of the workshop

1. Learning why solar system is called as family of Sun

2. Learning that the Sun acts as parent and hold the solar system objects with gravity

3. Identifying different colours of the objects in the solar system

4. Understanding and knowing the difference between comets and asteroids and also between planets and dwarf planets

5. Understanding the spherical shape of the planets with other major characteristics





03rd November 2015 – Space Explorer Workshop – Classes I - II

A workshop named “Discovering the Skies” was conducted on 3rd November 2015 for students of grade I - II. 74 Students attended this workshop. The duration of the workshop was of 90 minutes.

It is a fun filled workshop designed for the young minds to understand what lies above us and the far beyond. Students were be able to define the divisions in the skies, understand each level with its uniqueness and deduce what and where Space lies.

Learning Outcomes of the workshop

1. Learning to define the sky and its layers.

2. Learning to differentiate between atmosphere and space.

3. Learning about the various objects found at different layers.

4. Understanding why sun, moon and earth are called heavenly objects.

5. Subconsciously realizing that everything is a part of space.











3rd November 2015 – Delhi Sports Carnival Yoga Competition

Sachdeva Global School students participated in Delhi Sports Carnival Yoga Competition held on 3rd November 2015 held at Poorvi Delhi Khel Parisar, Dilshad Garden, New Delhi. Students won 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
